60 years ago today, Allen Fieldhouse opened with a 77-66 win over K-State. Who knew at that time it would become universally renowned as one of – if not the – best places to watch a basketball game.
As commentator Jay Bilas puts it, Allen Fieldhouse is the St. Andrews of college basketball. Amazing coaches, players, moments, and fans have all contributed to create a place where tradition and history almost seem to emanate from the rafters and limestone walls.

KU BALLS is proud to display an authentic program from the first game played in Allen Fieldhouse, along with a peek-a-boo shot of a couple of floors played on over the past 60 years years.
